The mission of Simple Peace is to produce and make available beautiful, stylish reusable bags made of organic, and sustainable materials. In addition to providing a product, we also strive for social and environmental responsibility in running our business. We use local whenever possible. Our bags are ethically made using fair wage labor.  All of our marketing materials, product tags and office supplies are printed on recycled paper with soy-based ink. We reuse boxes and shred junk mail for filling. We are certified by Green America as a company that is good for people and good for the planet. We are a 10% solution business, which means we give a percentage of our profits to charity, volunteer our time, and are dedicated to the green movement.

Why Reuse?
According to the EPA, over 380 billion plastic bags are consumed in the US each year. Plastic bags don’t biodegrade, they photo degrade which means they break down into smaller bits contaminating the soil and waterways. Hundreds of thousands of marine animals die each year from plastic bag ingestion.  Reusable bags are the best alternative.

Why Organic?
Organic agriculture is one way to prevent chemicals from getting into the air, earth and water. It takes one pound of chemicals to produce three pounds of conventional cotton.

Why Hemp?
Hemp is naturally resistant to insects and therefore can be grown free of chemical pesticides. It is also fast growing and renewable.
