Why Fair Trade? Simple Peace wants to make a difference. Our first Fair Trade project is working with the village artisans of Tigmijjou, Essaouira, Morocco. These artisans have formed a cooperative with the help of the Peace Corp small business development volunteers. Fair Trade helps artisans get a fair wage and fair price for their products while preserving traditional culture. These Fair Trade artisans respect nature, and produce their products using sustainable methods. Forming a cooperative allows the artisans to work directly with importers, cutting out unnecessary middleman. Fair Trade is good for the environment and good for families
